  • Metal-oxide surge arrester with Cage Design: MOV blocks enclosed by a cage of FRP rods, silicone rubber sheds directly molded onto resistors and end-fittings — no sealed shell, no gaps, partial discharges and moisture ingress prevented
  • Suitable for rail vehicles with speeds up to 320 km/h (200 mph) and for stationary application in areas accessible to the public
  • One family covers AC 15/25 kV catenary (Ur 23–45 kV) and DC 750 V / 1.5 kV / 3 kV traction (Ur 1.0–4.8 kV)
  • Safe overload behavior — the arc escapes directly through the soft silicone housing, no critical internal pressure, ejection of internal parts almost completely prevented; rated short-circuit current up to 65 kA
  • Duty classes SM (10 kA, Qrs 2.0 C) and SH (20 kA, Qrs 2.8 C or extended 3.6 C); hydrophobic, self-extinguishing and flame-retardant silicone housing
