GEAFOL cast-resin transformers are environmentally friendly dry-type transformers for use everywhere — but particularly where special fire security, water protection or constructive regulations apply. They convert voltage levels in distribution networks and also serve as generator transformers or for the operation of static converters. The portfolio covers ratings of ≤ 50 MVA and voltages of ≤ 52 kV.
Main advantages: practically maintenance-free operation; high overload capacity ensuring high reliability; excellent fire behavior (flame resistant and self-extinguishing); environmentally friendly, completely recyclable technology; practically no restrictions concerning place of installation; and availability for practically all standards and regulations.
On request, dry-type transformers are also offered with copper windings, named CARECO.
The cast-resin DT portfolio comprises three product lines. GEAFOL Neo offers an innovative clean design with small dimensions and low weight, usable almost everywhere. The classic GEAFOL line delivers high efficiency and low total cost of ownership (TCO) in a compact design, with off-circuit or on-load tap changer. The GEAFOL Converter Transformer is built for high short-circuit withstand capability, high overload capability and high operational reliability.

Environmentally acceptable and compact: no liquid insulator, low noise level, flame-resistant and self-extinguishing, recyclable — with a small ground area requirement. Adaptable: the rating can be increased by up to 50 % by mounting of fans.
Economical and practically maintenance-free: installation at load centers permits optimum system design (high efficiency = cost optimization); simple rearrangement of power supplies when changing sites; no special rooms or protection needed; no specific maintenance required — only cleaning and inspection recommendation by system owners.
GEAFOL cast-resin distribution transformers are produced in a globally operating factory network across five sites on four continents, with the Kirchheim (Germany) plant covering the full range up to 50.000 kVA and 52 kV.
